the Dark Arts

In The Dark Arts series, Clay Davis paints witches as they exist in shadow, not as symbols made safe for display.  This work reaches back toward older occult traditions - smoke-dark, ritual-worn, and quietly dangerous - where witchcraft is a committed lifestyle rather than an aesthetic shared for effect.

These are images of abandoned discretion, shaped by moonlight and curiosity.  Each painting feels uncovered rather than invented, like a page torn from a grimoire or a truth remembered too late.

New artwork from The Dark Arts series is available every October.
